Swing-Someone who can fill in for multiple roles in a show
Understudy-Someone who fills in for one role of an actor/actress

Christie Prades shares the role of Gloria Estefan with her understudies Arianna Rosario and Claudia Yanez. They go on for her if she is ill or something happens to her. Christie has had much experience playing this role because of Broadway. Arianna and Claudia have been on for the tour for some shows. Understudies are so cool because they have the ability to step in and take over the role. Showing they can do this and have the talent to be a lead. Have you seen any of the understudies in the show yet being broadway or on the tour? Do you think its cool that they do this and have the opportunity to?  

I think it's still really cool to see an understudy go up for that role because they get a chance to be in the spotlight and show off their talents even more.
